Asad Gate
Asad Gate is an archway located in Lalmatia, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. According to the name of this arch, the name of that place has become Asadgate. This road goes from Asadgate to Mohammadpur. It is located on the right side of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and St. Joseph Higher Secondary School. History Its former name is Ayub Gate. The President of Pakistan Ayub Khan came to Dhaka and allotted the first fifteen houses in Mohammadpur area for some families. Lalmatia
Lalmatia is a small residential area located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is a part of Mohammadpur Thana and is located at the south side of Mohammadpur, bordering with Dhanmondi and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. Known for its narrow streets and red-bricked houses, the area has undergone a modernisation process with bungalows being replaced by high-rise buildings having flats as well as some commercial spaces. Mohammadpur () is a thana of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Although initially Mohammadpur had grown as a residential area, subsequent commercial places have also been developed as well. The Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban () is the house of the Parliament of Bangladesh, located at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar besides St. Joseph Higher Secondary School in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka. Mohammad Ayub Khan (14 May 1907 – 19 April 1974) was a Pakistani military dictator who served as the second president of Pakistan from 1958 until his resignation on 1969. He was the first native Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Army, commander-in-chief of the Pakistan Army, serving from 1951 to 1958. Khan rose to prominence after his 1958 Pakistani coup d'état, 1958 coup d'état which ousted President Iskandar Ali Mirza, who had himself imposed martial law in the country. Amanullah Mohammad Asaduzzaman (known as Asad; 10 June 1942 – 20 January 1969) was an East Pakistani student activist whose death at the hands of police during a protest on 20 January 1969 "changed the nature of the student-mass movement and ... turned into a mass-upsurge against the Ayub regime and its repressive measures", according to ''Banglapedia''.
