Arvydas Sabonis
Arvydas Romas Sabonis (; born 19 December 1964) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player and businessman. Sabonis won the Euroscar six times and the Mr. Europa Award twice. He played in a variety of leagues, including the Spanish ACB League, and spent seven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Playing the center position, Sabonis won a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics, in South Korea, for the Soviet Union, and later earned bronze medals at the 1992 Olympic Games and 1996 Olympic Games representing Lithuania. He retired from professional basketball in 2005. Sabonis was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 1986 NBA draft, but he did not play his first NBA game until 1995, at the age of 30. On 20 August 2010, Sabonis was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame in recognition of his great play in international competition. The Portland Trail Blazers (colloquially known as the Blazers) are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. 1994–95 ACB Season
The 1994–95 ACB season was the 12th season of the top Spanish professional basketball league, since its establishment in 1983. It started on 8 September 1994 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 21 May 1995 with the finals. FC Barcelona Banca Catalana won their fifth ACB title, and their eighth Spanish title by defeating Unicaja at the fifth leg of the finals in one of the most epic moments in the history of the league. At the fourth leg of the finals, which was very even, with two points of advantage for FC Barcelona and possession for Unicaja, Michael Ansley shot a three-pointer with seven seconds left that could have given to Unicaja its first league title, but unfortunately missed the three-pointer and sent the series to the fifth leg. ACB Most Valuable Player Award
ACB Most Valuable Player is an annual award of the Liga ACB, the top-tier professional basketball league in Spain. The ACB handed out the award first after the 1991–92 ACB season. Since then, four players have won the award more than once: Darryl Middleton (3-time winner), Arvydas Sabonis, Tanoka Beard, and Luis Scola (2-time winners). Additionally, only six Spanish players have won the award: Juan Carlos Navarro, Marc Gasol, Felipe Reyes, Fernando San Emeterio, Sergio Llull and naturalized Spanish player Nikola Mirotić. ACB Finals Most Valuable Player is an award for the top-tier professional basketball league in Spain, the Spanish ACB League. The ACB first named a Finals Most Valuable Player after the 1990–91 ACB season. All-EuroLeague
The All-EuroLeague Team is an award for Europe's premier level league, the EuroLeague, that is given to the league's top ten basketball players for each season, since the 2000–01 season. During the FIBA era of the EuroLeague, players were honored first by being a part of the FIBA Festival, and later by being selected to the FIBA EuroStars. The EuroLeague is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier and the most prestigious men's basketball league in Europe.
