''Artcore Fanzine'' is a punk zine first published in January 1986, covering punk and hardcore music based out of the United Kingdom The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a country in Europe, off the north-western coast of the European mainland, continental mainland. It comprises England, Scotlan .... It is published once or twice a year and as well as interviews of new bands, labels and artists. It is also known for the other half of the magazine called ''Vaultage'' which covers bands, labels, artists, authors and photographers from throughout the history of this style of music. There have been 40 issues of ''Artcore'' published to date (2022) and at least 9 vinyl/CD and cassette releases. A punk zine (or punkzine) is a zine related to the punk subculture and hardcore punk music genre. Often primitively or casually produced, they feature punk literature, such as social commentary, punk poetry, news, gossip, music reviews and articles about punk rock bands or regional punk scenes. Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant hippie cultural climate of the time. It was also inspired by Washington D.C. and New York punk rock and early proto-punk.
