Archibald Hunter Arrington Williams
Archibald Hunter Arrington Williams (October 22, 1842 – September 5, 1895) was a Democratic U.S. Congressman from North Carolina between 1891 and 1893. Born near Louisburg, North Carolina, he attended local schools and then Emory and Henry College in Virginia. He enlisted in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War and served in the Army of Northern Virginia. After the Confederate surrender, Williams returned to Granville County, North Carolina, and developed the Oxford and Henderson Railroad, of which he was the president. In 1883, he was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives for a single term. In 1890, Williams was elected to the 52nd United States Congress and served for a single term; he was defeated for re-election in 1892 by Republican Thomas Settle III. Joey Arrington (born July 25, 1956) is an American former NASCAR driver, team owner, and crew chief from Rocky Mount, Virginia. He made nine Winston Cup Series starts with a best finish of 12th. He made his first start in 1974 as a 17-year-old and raced until 1980. He was the owner of Race Engines Plus LLC and is the son of former NASCAR driver Buddy Arrington. Buddy Rogers Arrington (July 26, 1938 – August 2, 2022) was an American NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver and owner. Racing career Arrington has the second-most starts without a win, and finished in the top 10 of NASCAR points twice; in 1978 (ninth) and 1982 (seventh). Arrington was loyal to his Chrysler LLC, Mopar cars and engines, as he ran Chryslers and Dodges until 1985 (Chrysler stopped production of raceable body styles in 1983 and they became ineligible two years later) when the company stopped supporting them. His best career race and finish was at Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega in 1979, where he had a powerful enough car to lead a few laps towards the end, and finished third. Yusuf Hazziez (born Joseph Arrington Jr.; August 8, 1935 – August 13, 1982), known professionally as Joe Tex, was an American singer and musician who gained success in the 1960s and 1970s with his brand of Southern soul, which mixed the styles of funk, country, gospel, and rhythm and blues. His career started after he was signed to King Records (USA), King Records in 1955 following four wins at the Apollo Theater. Steven Ralph Arrington (born March 5, 1956) is an American singer, songwriter, drummer, record producer, engineer and minister, who grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Biography Arrington played in various local bands before joining and touring with The Murphys, a lounge band out of Toledo, Ohio, in 1975. About a year later Arrington relocated from Ohio to San Francisco, California where he learned Latin percussion and drumming as well as playing with Coke Escovedo, Pete Escovedo and Sheila E.
