Dominique Arnould (born 19 November 1966 in Luxeuil-les-Bains in Haute-Saône, France) is a French former professional road, cyclo-cross and mountain bike cyclist. As a professional, the greatest wins in Arnould's career were the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships in 1993 and a stage win in the 1992 Tour de France. In addition Arnould was the Cyclo-Cross Champion of France five times between 1989 and 2003. Jeanne Arnould-Plessy (born Jeanne-Sylvanie-Sophie Plessy; 4 September 1819 – 30 May 1897) was a French stage actress. Life Jeanne-Sylvanie-Sophie Plessy was born in Metz, France, the daughter of Philippe Plessy, a local actor. She became a pupil of Samson at the Conservatoire in 1829. Plessy made her stage debut as Emma at the Comédie-Française in 1834 in Alexandre Duval's ''La Fille d'honneur''. She had an immense success, and Mlle Mars, to whom the public already compared her, took her up. Until 1845, she had prominent parts in all the plays, new and old, at the Théâtre Français, when suddenly at the height of her success, she left Paris and went to London to marry the dramatic author Auguste Jean François Arnould (1803-1854), a man much older than herself. Sir Joseph Arnould (12 November 1813 – 16 February 1886) was a writer and British judge in India. Life Born at Camberwell, he was the only son of Dr. Joseph Arnould and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Baily. He was the great-uncle of the actor, Laurence Olivier. He was educated at Charterhouse School and then Wadham College, Oxford, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1836. Five years later, Arnould was called to the bar by the Middle Temple. For some time he wrote articles for the Daily News (UK) and in 1848 he published his first book. Arnould was appointed puisne judge at the Supreme Court of Judicature at Bombay in 1859, whereas he was created a Knight Bachelor. Kevin Arnould (born February 19, 1980, in Sallanches) is a French nordic combined skier who competed from 2000 to 2006. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, he finished sixth in the 4 x 5 km team event and 17th in the 15 km individual event. Arnould's best finish at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was ninth in the 7.5 km sprint event at Val di Fiemme in FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2003, 2003. Rita Arnould ( – 20 August 1943) was a housekeeper and courier of the Red Orchestra resistance group in Belgium during World War II. She was captured when the Funkabwehr raided an apartment at 101 Rue des Atrébates in Brussels on 12 December 1941 at 2 pm. from which a Soviet clandestine radio station was being run. Early years Arnould was born in Frankfurt am Main to a Jewish family. She studied philosophy at Frankfurt am Main University, where she became the companion of Isidor Springer. He convinced her to become a Communist activist. In 1933 the couple moved to Brussels after Hitler had seized power since it was now dangerous in Germany to be either a Jew or Communist. Soon after reaching Brussels, she married A. M. Arnould, a well-to-do Dutch textile salesman who was over twice her age, and settled into a domestic routine. Arnould de Vuez (1644, Saint-Omer - 1720) was a painter of Flemish origin active in Lille from 1680 to 1720. Life Family and training Arnould de Vuez was born in 1644 in Saint-Omer.
