Arnolds Tauriņš
Arnolds Tauriņš (10 August 1905 – 20 August 1984 in Milwaukee) was a Latvian footballer and a seven-time champion of Latvia in the 1920s-1930s. Biography For most of his career Tauriņš played with RFK, but he started playing with Amatieris in 1923 (he played again with Amatieris in 1928). A year later he joined RFK as it won its first Latvian Higher League title. Over the eleven seasons that Tauriņš played with RFK he won seven Latvian league titles - the highest number for any Riga footballer in pre-war Latvia, matched only by Kārlis Tīls and Fricis Laumanis of Olimpija Liepāja. Tauriņš also won the Riga Football Cup twice while playing for RFK. Tauriņš was notable not only for his club successes, but also for his career with the Latvia national team. His international career spanned 10 years from 1925 to 1935. Fricis Laumanis
Fricis Laumanis (13 June 1910 in Liepāja – 6 December 1981 in New Jersey) was a Latvian football defender who was the most capped footballer from Liepāja for the Latvia national football team before World War II next to Rūdolfs Kronlaks and Harijs Lazdiņš. Football career Since his mid-teens Laumanis played with the youth squad of Olimpija Liepāja and in 1927 he first played for the senior team in a year when Olimpija won its first Latvian Higher League title, pushing out of the squad the club veteran Harijs Pikols. Laumanis played his first match in Latvian Higher League on 22 May 1927 as Olimpija beat Amatieris with 5-2 goals. Olimpija Liepāja was a Latvian football club. It was based in Liepāja and founded in 1922. Kārlis Tīls (1906-196?) was a Latvian international football defender and football manager, one of the most legendary footballers in the history of Liepāja. Biography At the age of 17 Tīls was one of the footballers who played in the first ever official match of Olimpija Liepāja as the club lost 1 - 2 to LNJS Liepāja. Together with Olimpija he went through all the club's glories and disasters. He was with Olimpija as it won its six Latvian league titles and the Riga Football Cup three times in a row. From 1926 to 1931 Tīls played 9 international matches for Latvia national football team.
