Arne Åhman
Per Arne Åhman (4 February 1925 – 5 July 2022) was a Swedish athlete who won the triple jump event at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Åhman was born on 4 February 1925. His first jump measured 15.40 metres and set a new Swedish record. At European championships Åhman won a bronze medal in the triple jump in 1946 and a silver in high jump The high jump is a track and field event in which competitors must jump unaided over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. An athlete is most commonly a person who competes in one or more sports involving physical strength, speed, power, or endurance. Sometimes, the word "athlete" is used to refer specifically to sport of athletics competitors, i.e. including track and field and marathon runners but excluding e.g. swimmers, footballers or basketball players. However, in other contexts (mainly in the United States) it is used to refer to all athletics (physical culture) participants of any sport.
