Arne Bergsvåg
Arne Bergsvåg (born 2 February 1958) is a Norwegian builder and politician for the Centre Party. He served as mayor of Ølen from 1999 to 2005 and then Vindafjord between 2005 and 2011. He later served as deputy county mayor of Rogaland between 2019 and 2023, and was also a deputy member of parliament for Rogaland between 2005 and 2013 and again from 2017 to 2021. Political career Parliament He served as a deputy representative to the Storting from Rogaland between 2005 and 2013 and was re-elected at the 2009 election. During his time in parliament, he sat for a total of 132 days of session. He was later re-elected at the 2017 election and sat until 2021. Local politics On the local level, Bergsvåg became mayor of Ølen in 1999. When it was incorporated into Vindafjord in 2005, Bergsvåg became the new mayor of that municipality. A county municipality in Norway () is a public elected body that is responsible for certain public administrative and service tasks within a county. Each county consists of county municipality, with the exception of Oslo, which is both a municipality and a county municipality. The main responsibility of the county municipalities are upper secondary schools, dental care, public transport, county roads, culture, cultural heritage management, land use planning and business development. Each county municipality's main body is the county council (''fylkesting''), elected by direct election by all legal residents every fourth year. The county councils typically have 30-50 members and meet about six times a year. 2011 Norwegian Local Elections
Nationwide local elections for seats in municipality and county councils were held throughout Norway on 12 September 2011. Several municipalities also opened the polling booths on 11 September. For polling stations this meant that two elections, the municipal elections and the county elections ran concurrently. In addition, an advisory referendum was held in Aust-Agder to determine whether to merge the county with Vest-Agder. Overall, the Conservative Party made the greatest gains, and the Labour Party also advanced and remained the largest party. 2009 Norwegian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Norway on 13 and 14 September 2009. Elections in Norway are held on a Monday in September, usually the second or third Monday, as determined by the king. Early voting was possible between 10 August and 11 September 2009, while some municipalities also held open voting on 13 September. Voters elected 169 members for the Storting, each for a four-year term. Voter turn-out in the 2009 general elections was 76.4%. Candidates were elected on party lists in each of the 19 counties.
