Arkadiusz Głowacki
Arkadiusz Rafał Głowacki (; born 13 March 1979) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Głowacki made his Ekstraklasa debut on 7 May 1997 in a match against Amica Wronki. In 2000, he moved to Wisła Kraków from Lech Poznań. In 2005 Głowacki was chosen as the new Wisła Kraków captain. He was named to the Ekstraklasa Best XI in the 2007–08 season as well as in 2009 in Polish Footballers' Association voting. In 2009, he was chosen the best defender in Poland by Ekstraklasa players. During his eleven seasons at Wisła Kraków, Głowacki won the Ekstraklasa championship six times. On 15 June 2010, he signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor. Towarzystwo Sportowe Wisła Kraków Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Wisła Kraków (), is a Polish professional football club based in Kraków. Egemen Korkmaz (born 3 November 1982) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a centre-back and works as an assistant coach of Abdullah Avcı at Trabzonspor. Early years After starting in 1999 in the amateur football team Balıkesirspor, Egemen signed a professional contract with Kartalspor in 2000. Next season in 2001, Bursaspor transferred him, where he stayed until the end of the 2007–08; going onto playing 155 League games, while managing to score five goals. Franciszek Smuda
Franciszek Smuda (; 22 June 1948 – 18 August 2024) was a Polish football player and manager. As a player, he spent his career playing for clubs in Poland, the United States and Germany. In 1983, he turned to coaching, becoming the manager of Widzew Łódź, Wisła Kraków, Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznań, among others. He has won three Polish Ekstraklasa titles. From 2009 he was the manager of the Poland national team, but resigned on 16 June 2012, following their elimination from Euro 2012. Early life Smuda was born in Lubomia, Wodzisław County, Poland, as a son of Gerard, a railway worker, and Marta. Playing career As a player, Smuda played as a defender. Stefan Majewski (born 31 January 1956) is a Polish professional football manager and former player who was most recently the sporting director of Ekstraklasa club Cracovia. Club career Majewski was born in Bydgoszcz. He played for clubs such as Gwiazda Bydgoszcz, Zawisza Bydgoszcz, Legia Warsaw, 1. 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification
Qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA confederations. Each confederation – the AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean), CONMEBOL (South America), OFC (Oceania), and UEFA (Europe) – was allocated a certain number of the 32 places at the tournament.
