Jerome Park
Jerome Park is a municipal park in the West Bronx of New York City. The park, along with the surrounding neighborhood of the same name, are both on land that was once Jerome Park Racetrack, which was founded by Leonard W. Jerome, grandfather of Winston Churchill. The park occupies a long and narrow strip of land between Jerome Park Reservoir and Goulden avenue. Neighboring the park are two "Education Mile" institutions: The Bronx High School of Science, and DeWitt Clinton High School. Harris Park, another New York City Department of Parks and Recreation property, is another neighbor. Walton High School (Bronx)
Walton High School was a public four-year high school located in the Jerome Park neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City. Originally an all-girl institution, Walton became co-educational in 1977. Walton, Bayside High School, Samuel J. Tilden High School, Abraham Lincoln High School, John Adams High School, Andrew Jackson High School, and Grover Cleveland High School were all built during the Great Depression from one set of blueprints, to save money. Walton's colors were sky blue and white. Its motto, ''Semper fidelis'', means 'always faithful'. The school seal was an open book supported by the torch of learning, and the school crest contains the head of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom. Richmond Hill is a commercial and residential neighborhood located in the southeastern section of the New York City borough of Queens. Richmond Hill High School is a four-year public high school in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York City, part of the New York City Department of Education. History Richmond Hill High School was founded in 1899, one year after Queens became part of New York City, in the then-bucolic setting of Richmond Hill. As such, it is the oldest high school south of Jamaica Avenue in Queens, New York City. Its first principal was Isaac Newton Failor (1851 to 1925), author of the longtime school book "Inventional Geometry" in 1904. He built an observatory on top of the building open to the students.
