Arcos is a Brazil, Brazilian Municipalities of Brazil, municipality located in the center of the Federative units of Brazil, state of Minas Gerais. Its population was 40,380 people living in a total area of 510 km2. The city belongs to the meso-region of Oeste de Minas and to the micro-region of Formiga. It became a municipality in 1938.IBGE

Arcos de la Frontera () is a town and municipality in the Sierra de Cádiz comarca, province of Cádiz (province), Cádiz, in Andalusia, Spain. Location Arcos de la Frontera is 64 km N-E of Cádiz and 35 km E-N-E of Jerez de la Frontera. It is located on the right bank of the Guadalete river, with a part of the old town installed inside a sharp loop of the river - which flows at the foot of towering vertical cliffs, to Jerez de la Frontera, Jerez and on to the Bay of Cádiz. The town commands a fine vista atop a sandstone ridge, from which the peak of and the Guadalete Valley can be seen. Another strategic trait of its location is that it stands on the last western spurs of the Subbaetic System, subbetic chain. The Americas Region Caribbean Ring System (ARCOS-1) is a fiber optic submarine communications cable of 8,400 kilometers that extends between the United States, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Curaçao, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico. The All-Russian Co-operative Society (ARCOS or ARKOS, ) was the principal body responsible for orchestrating Anglo-Soviet trade in the early days of the Soviet Union, following the development of Vladimir Lenin's New Economic Policy. The Taifa of Arcos () was a Berber medieval taifa kingdom that existed in two periods; first from 1011 to 1068. Ruled by the Zanata Berber family of the Banū Jizrūn. From 1068 until 1091 it was under the forcible control of Seville, by Abbad II al-Mu'tadid. It regained its independence from 1143 to 1145 when it was finally conquered by the Almohad Caliphate. The Banū Jizrūn, belonging to the Berber Zanata confederation, led by Muhammad I, seized the cora of Sidonia after expelling the Umayyad governor that ruled. The dynasty proclaimed its independence, giving rise to the kingdom Taifa of Arcos in 1011, with its capital in the present city of Arcos de la Frontera.
