Archie Mair
Archie Barclay Mair (born 10 February 2001) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Scottish Premiership club Motherwell on loan from EFL Championship club Norwich City. Mair has also represented Scotland at youth international level. Starting his career with the youth teams of Aberdeen and Norwich City, Mair has spent loan spells at King's Lynn Town, Lincoln City, Dartford, Notts County, Gateshead & Morecambe. Club career Born in Turriff, Mair began his career with Aberdeen, before playing for Norwich City, spending loan spells at King's Lynn Town and Lincoln City. He was recalled by Norwich in January 2022. He signed on loan for Dartford in November 2022, and for Notts County in January 2023. Following his Notts County debut, he was praised by usual first-choice goalkeeper Sam Slocombe. Turriff
Turriff () is a town and civil parish in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. It lies on the River Deveron, about above sea level, and has a population of 5,708. In everyday speech it is often referred to by its Scots name ''Turra'', which is derived from the Scottish Gaelic pronunciation. Services and amenities There are four churches in Turriff: St Ninian's (Church of Scotland, 1794), St Andrew's (Church of Scotland), St Congan's (Episcopal Church, 1862), and a Baptist church. Turriff has a primary school, Turriff Primary School, and a secondary school, Turriff Academy. 2022–23 National League
The 2022–23 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, was the eighth season under English football's new title of the National League, the nineteenth season consisting of three divisions, and the forty-fourth season overall. This season saw the expansion of North and South divisions to 24 teams each, a planned increase which was originally scheduled in 2019 to occur ahead of the 2021–22 season. Penalty Shootout (association Football)
In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) has expired. For example, in a FIFA World Cup, penalties are used in elimination matches; the round of 32, the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different players; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead.
