Ararat Mirzoyan
Ararat Samveli Mirzoyan (; born 23 November 1979) is an Armenian politician currently serving as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Before this, he served as President of the National Assembly of Armenia from January 2019 to August 2021. As a founding member of the Civil Contract Party, he ran under the Way Out Alliance during the 2017 parliamentary election and was elected to represent the third electoral district, consisting of the Malatia-Sebastia and Shengavit neighbourhoods of Yerevan. Professional career Prior to running as a political candidate, Mirzoyan worked at a number of employers in Armenia, including the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, HSBC Bank Armenia, REGNUM News Agency, and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems. 2018 Armenian Velvet Revolution
The 2018 Armenian Revolution, most commonly known in Armenia as #MerzhirSerzhin (, meaning "#RejectSerzh"), was a series of anti-government protests in Armenia from April to May 2018 staged by various political and civil groups led by a member of the Armenian parliament — Nikol Pashinyan (head of the Civil Contract party). Protests and marches took place initially in response to Serzh Sargsyan's third consecutive term as the most powerful figure in the government of Armenia, later broadening against the ruling Republican Party, who were in power since 1999. Pashinyan declared it a Velvet Revolution (). National Security Service (Armenia)
The National Security Service (NSS) () is the outgoing security service of Armenia, responsible for national security and intelligence matters. The service is also responsible for the Armenian Border Guard. The NSS is being replaced by the civilian-run Foreign Intelligence Service, established in 2023. Mikayel Arayi Minasyan (; born 1 October 1977) is an Armenian public figure, diplomat, and media mogul. He previously served as Armenia's ambassador to the Holy See, Sovereign Military Order of Malta and Portugal. He is the son-in-law of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. Early life and education Mikaelyan was born on 1 October 1977 in Yerevan. He attended Armenian College in Venice, Italy in 1993 and graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree.
