Apollo Theatre (Belvidere, Illinois)
The Apollo Theatre is an American theater in Belvidere, Illinois, built in 1921. The Apollo is a contributing property in downtown Belvidere's North State Street Historic District, on the north bank of the Kishwaukee River. Includes maps, historic photos, and 15 photos from 2011-2012. Photo #15, taken on January 5, 2012, portrays the Apollo Theatre. On March 31, 2023, the Apollo's roof collapsed in the midst of a tornado outbreak, during a concert attended by 260 persons. History The Apollo was built and initially managed by the Rhinehart family of Belvidere. The theater was designed to host stage shows and films, featuring a pipe organ for live musical accompaniment. The Apollo's predecessor was the Derthick Opera House, located on the same site, which was destroyed by fire in 1917. The Apollo opened on January 11, 1922, seating 950. Belvidere is a city in Boone County, settled on the Kishwaukee River in far northern Illinois, United States. Known as the 'City of Murals', Belvidere is home to several public art installations throughout the North and South State Street historic districts, which are on the national register of historic places. Crypta
Crypta is a Brazilian death metal band formed in 2019. The band is formed by bassist/vocalist Fernanda Lira, drummer Luana Dametto (both former members of thrash metal band Nervosa), along with guitarists Tainá Bergamaschi and Jéssica di Falchi. History On April 25, 2020, after straining their professional relationship, Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto left the band Nervosa. The following month, on May 20, they announced that they had formed a death metal band, the style they most identify with, called Crypta. They completed the line-up with guitarists Sonia Anubis (ex- Burning Witches, Cobra Spell) and Tainá Bergamaschi (ex-Hagbard). Revocation is an American technical death metal band from Boston, Massachusetts, consisting of guitarist and vocalist Dave Davidson, bassist Brett Bamberger and drummer Ash Pearson. The band has released eight studio albums, two EPs, and ten music videos since their formation.
