Aoife Ní Thuairisg
Aoife Ní Thuairisg is an Irish language presenter on TG4, Ireland's national Irish-language television station. Aoife co-hosted TG4's 2015 traditional Irish music awards show. Ní Thuairisg was born in Inverin in Conamara and has two brothers and one sister. Before working in television, she ran her own business. She started working as a presenter on TG4 in 1997, and now presents the weather and is also a continuity announcer. She has presented various programmes in the past, including , the popular country music show, and the series, as well as live coverage of the Wimbledon Championships. She has also produced several programmes herself. She produced several episodes of the successful series '' Paisean Faisean''. However, she became involved in controversy when she refused to present a show featuring gay men, as she is a Jehovah's Witness. Irish (Standard Irish: ), also known as Irish Gaelic or simply Gaelic ( ), is a Celtic language of the Indo-European language family. TG4 Presenters
TG4 (; , ) is an Irish free-to-air public service television channel. It launched on 31 October 1996 and is available online and through its on-demand service TG4 Player in Ireland and beyond. TG4 was initially known as (TnaG), before being renamed in 1999. TG4 was the third national station to be launched in Ireland, after RTÉ One in 1961 (as ) and RTÉ Two in 1978. It was followed by a fourth channel, TV3 (now called Virgin Media One), in 1998.
