Anđelko Milardović
Andelko Milardović (November 12, 1956, Ogulin, Croatia) is a Croatian political scientist, sociologist and college professor, also a scientific researcher of the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies in Zagreb. He is the founder and director of the Centre for Political Researches and more recently "Think Thank" Institute of European and globalization studies. He studied Political Science in Ljubljana and Zagreb. He graduated at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb, University of Zagreb in 1981 with the Thesis, entitled: Science as a Production Force, under the mentorship of Davor Rodin, a famous philosophy professor. In 1986 he earned his master's degree at the same Faculty with the Master's Thesis, entitled: The concept of Activity in Amold Gehlen's Philosophical Anthropology, under the mentorship of Branka Brujić. Ogulin
Ogulin () is a town in central Croatia, in Karlovac County. It has a population of 7,389 (2021) (it was 8,216 in 2011), and a total municipal population of 12,251 (2021). Ogulin is known for its historic stone castle, known as Kula, and the nearby mountain of Klek mountain, Croatia, Klek. Toponymy There are several proposed etymologies for the name of Ogulin. Firstly that the surrounding woods needed to be cleared for a better defence of the town, so Ogulin received its name because of the resulting bare area ("ogolio" in Croatian) around it. There were a lot of lime-trees along the road from Ogulin towards Oštarije, and the people used to peel the bark, in order to get bass. It is suggested that Ogulin got its name from the verb to peel ("guliti" in Croatian). Neither proposal is historically confirmed. Post-democracy
The term ''post-democracy'' is a term coined by Warwick University political scientist Colin Crouch in 2000 in his book ''Coping with Post-Democracy''. It designates states that operate by democratic systems (elections are held, governments fall, and there is freedom of speech), but whose application is progressively limited. That is, a small elite co-opts democratic institutions to give itself decision-making authority. Crouch further developed the idea in an article called, "Is there a liberalism beyond social democracy?" for the think tank Policy Network and in his subsequent book ''The Strange Non-Death of Neo-Liberalism''. The term may also denote a general conception of a post-democratic system that may involve other structures of group decision-making and governance than the ones found in contemporary or historical democracy.
