Antônio Maciel Bonfim (10 February 1905 – 2 April 1947), also known by the code name Miranda, was a Communist revolution, revolutionary militant and the Secretary (title), general secretary of the Communist Party of Brazil (PCB) between the years 1934 and 1936. Early life Bonfim was born on 10 February 1905 in Irará, Bahia, being the son of peasants João Matos de Bonfim and Maria Maciel Bonfim. He attended a religious school in his hometown and later became a teacher hired by the Mexican Eagle Petroleum Company, Anglo-Mexican Petroleum Company. Bonfim taught secondary courses in Alagoinhas, Bahia, where he also worked as an editor for the ''Correio de Alagoinhas''. By September 1929, he was an assistant at the Wilson, Sons & Company Ltd. firm. Golbery Do Couto E Silva
Golbery do Couto e Silva (21 August 1911 – 18 September 1987) was a Brazilian general and politician. Biography Golbery do Couto e Silva was born in Rio Grande, a city in the Southern State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. At the age of 16, he joined the Military School of Realengo, Rio de Janeiro, which bred officials for the country's Army. On 22 November 1930, he graduated first among all classes becoming an Aspirant Officer. His Combat Arms Branch was Infantry, and by 1932 he was among the 9th Infantry Regiment quenching the 1932 Revolution in São Paulo. As a lieutenant, he also served in the 6th Infantry Regiment. In May 1937 he was promoted to captain and began to serve on the National Security Council. Later he was sent to Curitiba in the state of Parana. Graciliano Ramos de Oliveira (; October 27, 1892 – March 20, 1953) was a Brazilian modernist writer, politician and journalist. He is known worldwide for his portrayal of the precarious situation of the poor inhabitants of the Brazilian '' sertão'' in his novel '' Vidas secas''. His characters are complex, nuanced, and tend to have pessimistic world views, from which Ramos deals with topics such as the lust for power (the main theme in ''São Bernardo''), misogyny (a key point in ''Angústia''), and infidelity. Fernando de Noronha (), officially the State District of Fernando de Noronha () and formerly known as the Federal Territory of Fernando de Noronha () until 1988, is an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, part of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, and located off the Brazilian coast.
