Antonio Peña Memorial Show (2008)
The 2008 Antonio Peña Memorial Show (''Homenaje a Antonio Peña'' in Spanish) was the second show held in honor of the deceased Antonio Peña, owner and creator of the Mexican ''Lucha Libre'', or professional wrestling, company AAA. The show was held near the second anniversary of Peña's death from a heart attack. The main focus of the show was the second annual '' Copa Antonio Peña'' which was won by El Mesias as he survived a 13-man Gauntlet match defeating Pirata Morgan, El Elegido, Psicosis II, Dark Escoria, Silver King, Crazy Boy and Dark Cuervo one by one to win the ''Copa''. The main event of the show saw ''La Legión Extranjera'' (Electroshock, Konnan, Rellik and Kenzo Suzuki) defeat "Team AAA" (Latin Lover, Octagón, La Parka and Super Fly). Lucha Libre AAA World Wide
Antonio Peña Promotions, S.A. de C.V. d/b/a Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is a Mexican Lucha Libre (professional wrestling) promotion based in Mexico City, Mexico. Commonly referred to as simply AAA (pronounced "triple A"; an abbreviation of its original name Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, Spanish for "Assistance, Assessment, and Administration"), the promotion was founded in 1992 when Antonio Peña broke away from Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to set up a promotion, which allowed him more creative freedom. AAA has held a number of pay-per-views (PPV) over the years and has promoted shows not just in Mexico but in the United States and Japan as well. El Elegido
El Elegido (born November 23, 1975) is a Mexican '' luchador'' '' enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler. Elegido is best known for his appearances with the Mexican professional wrestling promotion AAA, where he has worked primarily as a ''tecnico'' ( a face, or those that portray the "good guys") and for a while as a member of the ''rudo'' ( Heel, those that portray the "bad guys") stable ''Los Mirreyes'' alongside Alan Stone and Toscano. He has also worked for International Wrestling Revolution Group and smaller independent groups. In 2007, Elegido was among several ''luchadors'' that represented AAA in an inter-promotional show with Pro Wrestling Noah at the Differ Ariake Arena. La Parka II
Jesús Alfonso Huerta Escoboza (January 4, 1966 January 11, 2020) was a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler, better known as La Parka (or La Parka II to distinguish him from the original La Parka) who worked for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion AAA from the mid-1990s until 2019. On January 11, 2020, Huerta died from complications arising from injuries that he sustained from a botched move during an October 2019 match. Escoboza was not the first wrestler to use the ring name "La Parka", Adolfo Tapia was the original La Parka but did not own either the name or the character. In the late 1990s, Escoboza was billed as ''La Parka Jr.'' and then in 2003 he became the "official" La Parka while Tapia was forced to stop using the name and instead became known as L.A. Park. Octagón
Juan Escalera (born March 27, 1961) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler) better known as Octagón. He is best known for working for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), having worked for the company since it was founded in 1992. In 2011 he was inducted into the promotion's Hall of Fame. Octagón formed a tag team with El Hijo Del Santo to take on Los Gringos Locos ( Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr) in a double mask versus hair match on the first pay-per-view put on by a Mexican wrestling promotion to air in the United States. Victor Manuel Resendiz Ruiz (born October 25, 1967) is a Mexican '' Luchador'' (professional wrestler) and actor. He is best known under his ring name Latin Lover, under which he is also credited in his acting career. Resendiz is best known for wrestling in the Mexican AAA promotion, but has also worked for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and currently works for the Perros del Mal and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotions under the ring name Latino. Edgar Luna Pozos (born April 22, 1970) is a Mexican ''Luchador'' or professional wrestler best known under the ring name Electroshock, which he has used while working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) since 1997. Pozos is married to ''luchadora'' Lady Apache and is the brother of Luchador Charly Manson. La Legión Extranjera
La Legión Extranjera (Spanish for "The Foreign Legion") was the main Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración heel group, though loosely affiliated. It was a catch all for one time and irregularly scheduled foreign heels, working as Konnan's hired guns as well as a number of AAA regular Rudos (bad guys). This allowed AAA to advertise matches where La Legión Extranjera is scheduled, without announcing the specific participants before the show. La Legión Extranjera's leader was Konnan. At the end of 2006, he was put out of action by Cibernético (giving him time to take care of health issues.) Dark Cuervo
Jaime Ignacio Tirado Correa (born January 4, 1974) is a Mexican Luchador (wrestler) who is best known as Cuervo or Dark Cuervo. He works for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and has been part of The Black Family since it was formed in 2001 by Charly Manson. During his time in the Black Family La Cuervo has been a member of both Lucha Libre Latina (LLL) and La Secta del Mesías, its predecessor La Secta Cibernetica and La Legión Extranjera but now the Black Family is its own independent entity. Crazy Boy
Crazy Boy (born March 30, 1978) is a Mexican professional wrestler who is best known in Lucha Libre. He works for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in Mexico. Crazy Boy is the first cousin of Super Crazy. A masked wrestler, Crazy Boy's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans.
