Angelina Topić
Angelina Topić ( sr-Cyrl, Ангелина Топић; born 26 July 2005) is a Serbian athlete specializing in the high jump. At the age of 17, she won the bronze medal at the 2022 European Athletics Championships, becoming the youngest medallist of the entire championships. The same year, Topić earned also bronze at the World Under-20 Championships. She is the current Serbian record holder for the high jump indoors and out, and also holds joint world U18 best outdoors. Background Angelina Topić's mother is Biljana Topić, the Serbian triple jump record holder, who was fourth in the event at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. Her coach is her father Dragutin Topić, the Serbian high jump record holder and European high jump champion, a title he won as a teenager in 1990. World Athletics U20 Championships
The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1986 and renamed to IAAF World U20 Championships in November 2015. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby is the most successful athlete at the championships, having won one gold and four silver in individual and relay sprinting events between 2000 and 2004. Biljana Topić Mitrović, (, born 17 October 1977) is a Serbian former track and field athlete and a current National record holder in both indoor and outdoor triple jump and as part of the 4 × 100 m relay national team. She achieved her best results in triple jump, having switched from sprint disciplines in which she had competed early in her career. She competed at three Olympic Games (4 × 100 m relay in 2000 and triple jump in 2008 and 2012). Career Topić competed at 2008 Summer Olympics, where she was 4 centimeters short of making the final. High Jump
The high jump is a track and field event in which competitors must jump unaided over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. In its modern, most-practiced format, a bar is placed between two standards with a crash mat for landing. Since ancient times, competitors have successively improved their technique until developing the universally preferred Fosbury Flop, in which athletes run towards the bar and leap head first with their back to the bar. The discipline is, alongside the pole vault, one of two vertical clearance events in the Athletics at the Summer Olympics, Olympic athletics program. 2022 European Athletics U18 Championships
The 2022 European Athletics U18 Championships was the third edition of the biennial continental athletics competition for European athletes aged fifteen to seventeen. It was held in Jerusalem from 4 to 7 July at the Hebrew University Stadium. The event returned after a four-year hiatus since Gyor 2018, because Rieti 2020 was first postponed to 2021 and then cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The European Athletics U18 Championships (named as European Athletics Youth Championships in 2016) are a biennial athletics competition for European athletes under the age of eighteen ( youth category). The creation of the competition stemmed from the 2013 European Athletics Congress. The event was created to promote the sport among young people in Europe. Each country may send a maximum of two athletes per event. The 2023 European Athletics U20 Championships are the twenty-seventh edition of the biennial athletics competition between European athletes under the age of twenty. The 2023 European Athletics U20 Championships are organized by European Athletics Association and held from 7–10 August 2023 in Jerusalem, Israel.
