André Tourigny
André Tourigny (born May 31, 1974) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach who is the head coach for the Utah Mammoth of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously served as head coach of the Arizona Coyotes and an assistant coach for the Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche. Coaching career From 2002 to 2013 Tourigny served as the head coach and general manager for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Tourigny served as an assistant coach for the Canada men's national junior ice hockey team at the IIHF World U20 Championship in 2010 and 2011, helping the team to win a silver medal in both 2010 and 2011. On June 24, 2013, Tourigny opted to pursue an NHL coaching career in accepting an assistant coaching role for fellow former QMHL coach Patrick Roy of the Colorado Avalanche. Nicolet, Quebec
Nicolet () is the county seat of Nicolet-Yamaska Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 8,169. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nicolet. The residents of the town pronounce the final "t" in Nicolet, but people outside of the region do not. Halifax Mooseheads
The Halifax Mooseheads are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The team was founded in 1994 and began play in the Dilio Division of the QMJHL for the 1994–95 season. Mooseheads history They have appeared in the President's Cup Finals five times, winning in 2013. The other four appearances were in 2003, 2005, 2019 and 2023. They hosted the Memorial Cup in 2000 and 2019 and won the tournament in 2013. The team plays their home games at the Scotiabank Centre. Central Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Central Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. Its predecessor was the Norris Division and its also one of two successors to the Northwest Division. The Chicago Blackhawks have been a member of the Central Division in all of its seasons since the original 1993 realignment. 2021–22 NHL Season
The 2021–22 NHL season was the 105th season of operation (104th season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). The league expanded to 32 teams with the addition of the Seattle Kraken. The league had an October-to-April regular season scheduling and a full 82-game regular season for the first time since the 2018–19 NHL season as the previous two NHL seasons were shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league also restored its pre-COVID-19 Eastern and Western conferences. The season began on October 12. The 2024–25 NHL season is the ongoing 108th season of operation (107th season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2023–24 NHL season was the 107th season of operation (106th season of play) of the National Hockey League (NHL). The regular season began on October 10, 2023, and ended on April 18, 2024. The 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs began on April 20. The 2021 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2021 WJHC'') was the 45th edition of the IIHF World Junior Championship, Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 25 December 2020 to 5 January 2021. The 2020 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2020 WJHC'') was the 44th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 26 December 2019 to 5 January 2020. Brian Kilrea Coach Of The Year Award
The Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award is given out annually to the coach of the year in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Originally called the CHL Coach of the Year Award, the trophy was renamed in 2003 to honour Brian Kilrea when he won his 1,000th game as the coach of the Ottawa 67's. Kilrea has won more games than any other coach in Canadian junior hockey history, two Memorial Cup championships and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. He was named the OHL's Matt Leyden Trophy, top coach five times in his 32-year coaching career, and won the CHL Coach of the Year Award once, in 1996–97. Matt Leyden Trophy
The Matt Leyden Trophy is awarded annually to the Ontario Hockey League Coach of the Year. The award is chosen by fellow OHL general managers. Teams were not permitted to vote for a coach from their own hockey club. Coaches receive five points for a first place vote, three points for a second place vote and one point for a third place vote. Winners of the award are also nominated for the Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award for the Canadian Hockey League. It is named in honour of Matt Leyden, a former president of the Ontario Hockey Association, and long-time general manager of the Oshawa Generals.
