André Thieme
André Thieme (born April 25, 1975) is a German rider who competes in show jumping. André Thieme was born as the son of Michael Thieme, a dressage rider and “Obersattelmeister” of the state stud in Redefin. At the age of 19, he received the “Goldene Reitabzeichen”, a mention for ten victories in dressage competitions on high level of difficulty. Jumping plays a major role in many equestrian sports, such as show jumping, fox hunting, steeplechasing, and eventing. The biomechanics of jumping, the influence of the rider, and the heritability of jumping prowess have all been the focus of research. Jumping process The airborne phase of the jumping process occurs between stance phases of the fore and hind limbs and is therefore biomechanically equivalent to a highly suspended or elevated canter stride. Württemberger
The Württemberger, Baden-Württemberger or Württemberg is a Warmblood horse breed originating in Germany. They are primarily riding horses, and are selectively bred for dressage and show jumping. Breed History The breed registry studbook was founded in 1895, and around 1896, the Marbach stud began concentrating on the original Württemberger type, which was a multi-purpose horse used for both draft and under-saddle work. The original horses were produced by introducing Arabian, Trakehner, Anglo-Norman, Friesian, Spanish, Barb, and Suffolk Punch blood to local warmblood lines. An Anglo-Norman stallion named Faust was a significant early influence on the breed, and contributed to the original shape of the breed. Gelding
A gelding (Help:IPA/English, /ˈɡɛldɪŋ/) is a castration, castrated male horse or other equine, such as a pony, donkey or a mule. The term is also used with certain other animals and livestock, such as domesticated Camelidae, camels. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (born 2 June 1962 in Lund) is a Swedish show jumper. He won a silver medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics in the individual jumping, and also a silver medal in the team jumping event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In 2011, Bengtsson won the Jerring Award. From 1997 to 2003 he worked at the stable of Jan Tops in Valkenswaard. Since 2003 Bengtsson lives in Breitenburg in Northern Germany where he runs his own stable together with Bo Kristoffersen. Danish Warmblood
The Danish Warmblood or is a Danish breed of modern sport horse, established in the mid-twentieth century and used mainly for dressage and show-jumping. Like other European warmblood breeds, it is a performance breed: any suitable horse of any origin may be admitted if it passes a strict performance test.
