André Lichnerowicz Prize
The André Lichnerowicz Prize for Poisson geometry is a mathematics distinction awarded since 2008 to reward notable contributions to Poisson geometry. Description of the prize The prize is assigned once every two years during the ''International Conference on Poisson Geometry in Mathematics and Physics'' to one or two young researchers who obtained their doctorate in the eight years before the Conference. It is awarded by a jury composed by members of the scientific and advisory committees of the conference, and its amount is financed by one of the hosting institutions or funding bodies. The 2020 edition of the Poisson conference was postponed to 2021 and then cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic; accordingly, the André Lichnerowicz Prize for 2020 was assigned online on May 27, 2021, in occasion of the Global Poisson Webinar. Max Planck Institute For Mathematics
The Max Planck Institute for Mathematics (, MPIM) is a research institute located in Bonn, Germany. It is named in honor of the German physicist Max Planck and forms part of the Max Planck Society (''Max-Planck-Gesellschaft''), an association of 84 institutes engaging in fundamental research in the arts and the sciences. The MPIM is the only Max Planck institute specializing in pure mathematics. Thomas Willwacher
Thomas Hans Willwacher (born 12 April 1983) is a German mathematician and mathematical physicist working as a Professor at the Institute of Mathematics, ETH Zurich. Biography Willwacher completed his PhD at ETH Zurich in 2009 with a thesis on "Cyclic Formality", under the supervision of Giovanni Felder, Alberto Cattaneo, and Anton Alekseev. He was a Junior member of the Harvard Society of Fellows from 2010 to 2013. He joined the University of Zurich as an assistant professor in 2013, and was promoted to associate professor in 2015. Chelsea Walton is an American mathematician whose research interests include noncommutative algebra, noncommutative algebraic geometry, symmetry in quantum mechanics, Hopf algebras, and quantum groups. She is an associate professor at Rice University and a Sloan Research Fellow.
