Andrzej Kraśnicki
Andrzej Piotr Kraśnicki (31 January 1949 – 10 January 2025) was a Polish sports administrator. He was president of the Polish Handball Association from 2006 to 2021. From 2010 to 2023 he served as president of the Polish Olympic Committee. Early life Kraśnicki was born in Nidzica, Poland on 31 January 1949. Career Kraśnicki was president of the Polish Handball Association from 2006 to 2021. While he was president, the Polish team medaled three times in the IHF World Men's Handball Championships, in 2007, 2009, and 2015. He resigned in February 2021. After Piotr Nurowski's death on 20 April 2010, he began serving as president of the Polish Olympic Committee. He served until 22 April 2023, resigning a month before the election that he decided not to run in. He became an honorary professor of Collegium Humanum – Warsaw Management University in 2020. Nidzica
Nidzica (; formerly ; ; ) is a town in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of Poland, lying between Olsztyn and Mława, in Masuria. The capital of Nidzica County, its population in 2017 was 13,872. History The settlement was originally founded by Old Prussians who established a small fortified fort and were subsequently invaded by Teutonic Knights in 1355, who then erected a small castle around 1376 and implemented Chełmno rights, Chełmno town law in the settlement after 1381. After the victorious Battle of Grunwald (1410) the town remained in Polish hands for three months. It was again captured by the Poles in 1414. Piotr Nurowski
Piotr Jan Nurowski (20 June 1945 – 10 April 2010) was a Polish tennis player and the chief of the Polish Olympic Committee. Nurowski was born in Sandomierz. He died in Smolensk, Russia in the 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash. On 16 April 2010, he was posthumously awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. He was buried in the Alley of the Meritorious in the Military Cemetery in Warsaw.
