Andrij Parekh (born September 20, 1971) is an American cinematographer and television director. Early life Parekh was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts of Ukrainians, Ukrainian and Indian people, Indian descent. Parekh went to high school in Minnesota at The Blake School (Minneapolis), The Blake School and attended Carleton College, where he graduated in 1995 with a degree in sociology/anthropology and a minor in media studies. He went on to study cinematography at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (MFA, 2001) and the Film and TV School of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, FAMU film school in Prague. While at NYU, he was nominated for the 1998 Eastman Excellence in Cinematography award. In 2001, he won an honorable mention from the American Society of Cinematographers in the "Heritage Award" category. Andrij Dobriansky (; September 2, 1930February 1, 2012) was a principal artist with the Metropolitan Opera for 30 years where he sang over 60 roles in over 900 performances. As a displaced person in Allied-occupied Germany, post-war Germany, he earned a scholarship to study chemistry at Amherst College, but later decided to forgo chemistry and pursued a career in opera. Andriy Atanasovych Melnyk (; 12 December 1890 – 1 November 1964) was a Ukrainian military and political leader best known for leading the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists from 1939 onwards and later the Melnykites (OUN-M) following a split with the more radical Banderite faction (OUN-B) in 1940.
