Andrew Collins (broadcaster)
Andrew Collins is an English writer and broadcaster. He is the creator and writer of the Radio 4 sitcom ''Mr Blue Sky''. His TV writing work includes ''EastEnders'' and the sitcoms ''Grass'' (which he co-wrote with Simon Day) and ''Not Going Out'' (which he initially co-wrote with Lee Mack). Collins has also worked as a music, television and film critic. Personal life Collins was a member of the Labour Party between the late 1980s and early 1990s, leaving after Labour's defeat in the 1992 General Election. In 2007, he was made patron of Thomas's Fund, a Northampton-based music therapy charity for children with life-limiting illnesses. Northampton
Northampton ( ) is a town and civil parish in Northamptonshire, England. It is the county town of Northamptonshire and the administrative centre of the Unitary authorities of England, unitary authority of West Northamptonshire. Mark Goodier
Mark Goodier (born 9 June 1961) is a Zimbabwean-born British radio disc jockey and broadcaster best known for his time on BBC Radio 1 between 1987 and 2002. He had two spells presenting the station's Top 40 singles chart, from September 1990 to March 1992 and again from April 1995 until November 2002, becoming the show's longest serving presenter. He also had a stint on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show during 1993. Goodier has also presented shows on BBC Radio 2, Classic FM, Greatest Hits Radio, Smooth Radio and Real Radio, and appeared on BBC television as a recurring presenter of ''Top of the Pops'' between 1988 and 1996. Josie Isabel Long (born 17 April 1982) is an English comedian. She started performing as a stand-up at the age of 14 and won the BBC New Comedy Awards at 17. In 2006, Long won the If.comeddies Best Newcomer award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for her show ''Kindness and Exuberance''. She has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show three times. Richard Herring
Richard Keith Herring (born 12 July 1967) is an English stand-up comedian and writer whose early work includes the comedy double act Lee and Herring (alongside Stewart Lee). He is described by ''The British Theatre Guide'' as "one of the leading hidden masters of modern British comedy". Towards the end of the double act, Herring also worked as a writer, producing four plays. After Lee and Herring went their separate ways he co-wrote the British sitcom, sitcom ''Time Gentlemen Please'', but quickly returned to performance with high-concept, concept-driven one-person shows like ''Talking Cock (comedy show), Talking Cock'', ''Hitler Moustache'' and ''Christ on a Bike'' as well as regular circuit stand-up. ''The Collings and Herrin Podcast'' was a topical podcast produced by broadcaster Andrew Collins (broadcaster), Andrew Collins and comedian Richard Herring. Its title derives from the recurring Richard Herring trope (linguistics), trope of misspelling names for comic effect. Described as a "sideways look at the news", the podcast was talk radio, discursive and based mainly on humorous analysis of the week's media coverage. It was light in tone but often veered into black comedy and Crude humor, crude humour as satire. It contained frequent uses of strong language and was described by a review in ''The Times'' as unsuitable for "sensitive souls". ''I Love the '80s'' is a BBC television nostalgia series that examines the pop culture of the 1980s. It was commissioned following the success of '' I Love the '70s'' and is part of the I Love... series. ''I Love 1980'' premiered on BBC Two on 13 January 2001 and the last, ''I Love 1989'', on 24 March 2001. Unlike with ''I Love the '70s'', episodes were increased to 90 minutes long. The series was followed later in 2001 by '' I Love the '90s''. The success of the series led to VH1 remaking the show for the American market: ''I Love the '80s'' USA, which is known simply as "I Love the '80s" in the US itself.
