Andrejs Šeļakovs
Andrejs Šeļakovs (born November 8, 1988) is a Latvian basketball player, who plays the center position. He is currently playing for BK Jūrmala of the Latvian league. Pro career Andrejs Šeļakovs started his pro career in 2006-2007 with ASK Rīga. Around that time he also was recruited by some major schools from NCAA Division 1, but he opted to stay in Europe. After one season with ASK he moved to VEF Rīga, where he spent four years. For the 2011–12 season he left Latvia for Spain, joining CB Tarragona of LEB Oro, Spanish second league. In beginning of 2012–13 season he played for Barons Kvartāls, but after few games he moved back to Spain, signing with Club Melilla Baloncesto on Christmas 2013. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five, the big or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is almost always the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. EuroBasket 2013 was the 38th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe. It took place from 4 September until 22 September 2013 in Slovenia. The number of participating teams was 24. France men's national basketball team, France defeated Lithuania men's national basketball team, Lithuania in the final to win their first title. EuroBasket 2011 was the 37th men's European Basketball Championship, held by FIBA Europe. The competition was hosted by Lithuania. This was the second time EuroBasket had been held in Lithuania, the country having also hosted the 1939 championship. Polska Liga Koszykówki (PLK) ( English: Polish Basketball League), officially known as the Orlen Basket Liga due to its sponsorship by Orlen, is a professional men's club basketball league in Poland. It constitutes the first and highest-tier level of the Polish league pyramid. The winning team of the final round are crowned the Polish Champions of that season. The Primera FEB, formerly known as LEB or LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The FEB leagues are divided into three categories (the other two are the Segunda FEB and the Tercera FEB). The league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the Primera FEB are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the Primera FEB are relegated to Segunda FEB.
