Andrea Vötter (born 3 April 1995) is an Italian luger. Career Vötter competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Italy. In the Luge at the 2014 Winter Olympics – Women's singles, Women's singles she placed 19th. Vötter's best Luge World Cup overall finish is 7th in 2018–19 Luge World Cup, 2018–19. At the 2024 FIL World Luge Championships, 2024 FIL World Luge Championships, World Championships at Altenberg, Saxony, Altenberg, Germnay, she along with partner Marion Oberhofer became the 2024 FIL World Luge Championships – Women's doubles' sprint, Doubles' sprint champion. Brixen
Brixen (; , ; or , ) is a town and communes of Italy, commune in South Tyrol, northern Italy, located about north of Bolzano. Geography Brixen is the third-largest city and oldest town in the province, with a population of nearly twenty-three thousand. It is located at the confluence of the Eisack and Rienz rivers, and today it is the capital of the Eisack district community. The Brenner Pass, on the Italian-Austrian border, is 45 km to the north of Brixen, and Bolzano lies 40 km to the south. A luge () is a small one- or two-person sled on which one sleds supine (face-up) and feet-first. A luger begins seated, propelling themselves initially from handles on either side of the start ramp, then steers by using the calf muscles to flex the sled's runners or by exerting opposite shoulder pressure to the pod. Racing sleds weigh for singles and for doubles. Luge is also the name of an Olympic sport that employs that sled and technique. It is not to be confused with skeleton bob, which is also a single person tray-like sled in the Bobsleigh family, and the name of the sport that uses that sled, but which is designed for a running start, steering by shoulders and feet, and to be laid on face down and head first. Marion Oberhofer (born 14 December 2000) is an Italian luger. Career In January 2023, Oberhofer represented Italy at the 2023 FIL European Luge Championships and won a gold medal in the doubles event with her doubles teammate Andrea Vötter. She then competed at the 2023 FIL World Luge Championships and won bronze medals in the doubles and doubles' sprint events. She won the doubles overall 2022–23 Luge World Cup with 1,010 points, and won the doubles sprint along with Selina Egle and Lara Kipp. She again won the doubles overall 2023–24 Luge World Cup. In January 2024, she competed at the 2024 FIL European Luge Championships and won a silver medal in the doubles event and a bronze medal in the team relay.
