Anaïs Marin
Anais Marin (born 1977) is a French political scientist. In 2022, she became the United Nations special rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus. Life Marin was born in 1977. Marin completed a degree in political science at Science Po Paris and completed her doctorate at the Centre de recherches internationales (CERI) there with a dissertation on the influence of paradiplomacy in Saint Petersburg on the foreign policy of the Russian Federation in the 1990s under the supervision of Anne de Tinguy. She took up a postdoctoral position at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies, where she studied the European Union's eastern external borders. In 2011, she became a Belarus officer for the Finnish think tank Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA). In this role, she has been a member of several expert networks informing and advising European decision-makers regarding Belarus. Special rapporteur (or independent expert) is the title given to independent human rights experts whose expertise is called upon by the United Nations (UN) to report or advise on human rights from a thematic or country-specific perspective. Depending on the specific mandate, there can also be working groups composed of an independent expert from each of the five UN regional groupings: Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, and the Western group. Maxim Aliaksandravič Znak (; born 4 September 1981) is a Belarusian lawyer and politician, part of Viktar Babaryka's team, lawyer of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, and a member of the presidium of the Coordination Council formed during the 2020–21 Belarusian protests in opposition to the rule of Alexander Lukashenko. Along with fellow opposition leader Maria Kolesnikova, Znak actively participated in the demonstrations and protests against the Lukashenko government after Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya had left the country. Maria Kalesnikava (Marya Alyaksandrauna Kalesnikava / Maria Aleksandrovna Kolesnikova; born 24 April 1982) is a Belarusian professional flutist and political activist. In 2020, she headed Viktar Babaryka's electoral campaign during the presidential elections of 2020 in Belarus. Kalesnikava represented the united campaign of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, then she became a member of the presidium of the Coordination Council formed during the 2020 Belarusian protests in opposition to the regime of Alexander Lukashenko. She is also a founder of the ' Razam' political party. Kalesnikava was kidnapped by unidentified law enforcement officers on 7 September 2020.
