''Anandadhara'' is a fortnightly entertainment magazine in Bangladesh. The magazine is published by Mahfuz Anam, who is also the editor of '' The Daily Star''. History ''Anandadhara'' was founded in May 1998 as a film industry magazine. Shahadat Chowdhury, editor of ''Bichitra'', was the founding editor of Anandadhara. Shahadat Chowdhury
Shahadat Chowdhury (28 July 1943 – 29 November 2005) was a Bangladeshi journalist and editor of several news magazines. He served as the editor of Weekly Bichitra from 1972 until its publication was ceased in 1997. He then served as the editor of Shaptahik 2000 and Anandadhara. In 1993, he was awarded the Ekushey Padak, the state's second highest civilian honor, for his outstanding contribution to journalism. Early life Chowdhury was one of the 12 children of Abdul Haq Chowdhury, a district judge, and Jahanara Chowdhury. Chowdhury completed his matriculation from Dhaka Graduate High School and bachelor's in painting from the Institute of Fine Arts. Career Chowdhury was the editor of ''Kachi-Kanchar Asar'', the children page of The Daily Ittefaq in 1961. ''Shaptahik 2000'' was a Bengali-language magazine that was published weekly from 1998 to 2014. The magazine was published by Mediaworld Ltd, a concern of Transcom Group of Bangladesh. History ''Shaptahik 2000'' was established in 1998. Its founding editor was Shahadat Chowdhury. The publisher of the magazine was Mahfuz Anam, the editor of ''The Daily Star''. On 12 March 2005, Shumi Khan, the Chittagong correspondent of the magazine, received threats from Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh. This threat was issued after Shumi wrote an article that accused Shahjahan Chowdhury, a Member of Parliament from Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, of supporting terrorism. Mahfuz Anam
Mahfuz (or Mohammed) ( Harari: መሕፉዝ, ar, محفوظ; died July 1517) was a Harari Garad, Emir of Harar and Governor of Zeila in the Adal Sultanate. Life and reign Mahfuz led raids into the provinces of Abyssinia for a number of years. He selected the season of Lent for his attacks, when the defenders were weakened by their fasts. He invaded the Amhara, Shewa, and Fatagar provinces south of the Awash River. According to Portuguese explorer Francisco Álvares, Mahfuz exclusively targeted Abyssinian soldiers capturing them however left civilians unharmed. Sources differ over the number of years Mahfuz raided Abyssinia. Francisco Álvares states that his raids began during the reign of Eskender, and lasted 25 years. Bichitra is a defunct weekly literary magazine. It was owned by the Government of Bangladesh and edited by Shahadat Chowdhury. The magazine has been described as a historic milestone and a pioneering magazine. History Fazal Shahabuddin is the founding editor of the magazine. It was founded in 1972. Bichitra was the first publication in Bangladesh to issue a special Eid edition. Moinul Ahsan Saber (born 26 May 1958) is a Bangladeshi fiction writer. He is the executive editor of weekly magazine Saptahik 2000, published from Dhaka. He also heads ''Dibya Prokash'', a progressive publishing house in Bangladesh. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1996.
