Gael Linn Label
Gael Linn () is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation focused on the promotion of the Irish language and the arts. The organisation's funding includes government and lottery sources. History Gael Linn was founded in May 1953, following a meeting in Cork, with the goal to foster interest in the Irish language and promote artistic events. Since the early years of its foundation, the organisation has also run language courses. In the mid-1950s, Gael Linn supported the production of short films and news reels which were distributed to cinemas. In 1955, Gael Linn established the Irish-language Damer Theatre on St Stephen's Green which it operated until 1976. In 1959, Gael Linn produced the feature-length documentary film ''Mise Éire'', which included an acclaimed score by composer Seán Ó Riada. Rónán Ó Snodaigh
Rónán Ó Snodaigh (born 1 January 1970 in Dublin, Ireland) is a songwriter, composer, musician, poet and founding member and lead vocalist in the musical group Kíla. He has revolutionised the playing of the bodhrán and written many songs in Irish and English. He has written and released seven solo albums. Amongst the many percussion instruments Ó Snodaigh plays are bodhrán, djembe, congas, and bongos. As regards stringed instruments he plays the guitar and to a lesser extent the harp. He is the second youngest of six boys born to historian and publisher Pádraig Ó Snodaigh and sculptor Cliodhna Cussen. He is a brother of politician Aengus Ó Snodaigh and of course his bandmates Colm and Rossa Ó Snodaigh. He has four children and a stepson and currently lives in Bray, Co. Wicklow. Liam Ó Maonlaí
Liam Ó Maonlaí (born 7 November 1964 in Monkstown, County Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish musician best known as a member of Hothouse Flowers. Ó Maonlaí formed the band in 1985 with his schoolmate Fiachna Ó Braonáin. Biography He attended Scoil Lorcáin, Monkstown and Coláiste Eoin, which is a Gaelscoil on Dublin's southside, although he credits his father as being the main influence for his love of the Irish language, of which he is a fluent speaker. He won an under-18 all-Ireland award for his skills on the bodhrán. Ó Maonlai first formed a band called The Complex with childhood friend Kevin Shields and drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig. Laoise Kelly is a traditional Irish music composer and harpist. She won the 2020 Musician of the Year Award. Biography Laoise Kelly is from Westport, County Mayo. Kelly learned music from her father and began learning the harp from when she was 12. She learned from Ann-Marie Scanlon and Kim Fleming as well as John Hoban. Kelly has been described as the "most significant harper of her generation". She has founded a number of groups including ''Bumblebees'' and ''Fiddletree'' with whom she has several albums each.
