Amélie (musical)
''Amélie'' is a Musical theatre, musical based on the Amélie, 2001 romantic comedy film of the same name with music by Hem (band), Daniel Messé, lyrics by Messé and Nathan Tysen and a book by Craig Lucas. The musical premiered at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in September 2015. The musical began previews on Broadway on March 9, 2017 at the Walter Kerr Theatre, before opening April 3, 2017. It closed after 83 performances on May 21, 2017. A substantially transformed production, with new orchestrations, an expanded repertoire of songs, and new staging in the actor/muso style, opened on the West End in December 2019, at the Other Palace. Critics praised its improvements on the Broadway version, with ''The Guardian'' describing it as "a triumph of adaptation" "high on imagination", while ''The Daily Telegraph'' lauded the "wonderful, wistful evening" it made. Nathan Tysen
Nathan Tysen (born January 15, 1977) is a Grammy-nominated American songwriter whose musicals have appeared on Broadway and the West End. Musicals with composer Chris Miller include Tuck Everlasting (musical), ''Tuck Everlasting'', ''The Burnt Part Boys, Fugitive Songs'', ''Revival,'' ''Dreamland,'' and ''The Mysteries of Harris Burdick''. He also collaborated with songwriter Daniel Messé of the band Hem (band), Hem on lyrics for the Broadway musical Amélie (musical), ''Amélie'' starring Phillipa Soo, and the reworked Olivier-nominated original London cast production starring Audrey Brisson. Mayu Watanabe
is a Japanese former singer and actress. Watanabe started her career as a member of the idol girl group AKB48 under Team B. In the annual AKB48 General Elections event, she had consistently been voted by fans to rank among the group's top members. She has released five solo singles, many of which have peaked in the top ten in the Oricon charts, and one solo album. She left the group on the last day of 2017 and on the first day of 2018 and pursued as an acting career until her retirement from the entertainment industry in June 2020. Sam Pinkleton (born July 20, 1987) is a Tony-Award-winning American choreographer and theatre director. He is known for directing the Broadway play '' Oh, Mary!'' Manoel Felciano (born November 12, 1970) is an American actor, singer, and songwriter. Career He received a humanities degree from Yale University. Felciano attended the Graduate Acting Program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2004.
