Amit Vij
Amit Vij (born 9 November 1977) is an Indian politician and a member of Indian National Congress. In 2017, he was elected as the member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Pathankot but in 2022, he lost the seat to BJP's Ashwani Sharma. Constituency Vij represents the Pathankot. Vij won the Pathankot on an INC ticket, Vij beat the member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly Ashwani Kumar Sharma of the BJP by over 11170 votes. But in 2022 Elections, he lost the seat against Ashwani Sharma, BJP candidate. Pathankot () is a city and the district headquarters of the Pathankot district in Punjab, India. Pathankot is the sixth most populous city of Punjab, after Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala and Bathinda. Its local government is a municipal corporation. Ashwani Kumar Sharma
Ashwani Kumar Sharma (born 23 January 1964) is an Indian politician and the former Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Punjab president. He is a member of Punjab Legislative Assembly and currently representing Pathankot Assembly constituency. Early life Sharma was born in a lower-middle-class Punjabi Hindu family on 23 January 1964. His family had migrated to Pathankot from Sialkot after partition. Ashwani Kumar Sharma did his early schooling from Vivekananda Model High School, Pathankot and went to do his graduation from Guru Nanak Dev University in Bachelor of Arts.
