Ambrož Hradecký
Ambrož Hradecký ( or ; died 16 October 1439, in Kolín) was a Czech priest, preacher and political leader from the Kingdom of Bohemia in the era of the Hussite Wars. Life Ambrož is first mentioned in 1419 as pastor of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in the East Bohemian town of Hradec Králové (). Queen Sofia and her burgrave had him driven out of town, because he supported the Hussite cause. In the spring of 1420, Ambrož and Diviš Bořek of Miletínka mobilized a crowd on mount Oreb and lead the crowd to Prague, which was threatened by King Sigismund, scorching and burning the area they travelled through, and destroying the monastery of Münchengrätz, ostensibly in support of the rebels. In June the Orebites, as they called themselves, conquered Hradec Králové and Ambrož was reinstated in his parish. Under his leadership, the city turned into a center of the Hussite movement. Jan Ambrož (born 18 June 1954), is a Czech chess International Master (IM) (1980), Czechoslovak Chess Championship winner (1980), Chess Olympiad team silver medalist (1982). Biography Jan Ambrož achieved the greatest success in his chess career in 1980 when he won the Czechoslovak Chess Championship. In 1982, he participated in the World Chess Championship Zonal Tournament, where he was ranked 8th among 22 players. Ambrož pod Krvavcem (; ) is a high-elevation village in the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Geography Ambrož pod Krvavcem is a scattered settlement on the southern slope of Mount Krvavec (). The church stands at the highest point in the settlement itself, at , and the territory of the village extends further north, reaching its highest elevation at Big Mount Zvoh (; ) above the Jezerca and Križ pastures. Farms are located on terraces at lower elevations, extending west to Stiška Vas and east to Sveti Lenart, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Sveti Lenart.
