Amanda Bingson
Amanda Yvette Bingson (born February 20, 1990) is an American track and field athlete specializing in the hammer throw. She is the former American record holder in the event with a distance of set at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Bingson attended school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she is a school record holder and majored in interdisciplinary studies. She had only taken up the hammer throw in 2009 as a college freshman and has continued to improve since then. A month before the trials, she finished fourth at the NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Prior to that, she was a shot put and discus thrower at Silverado High School in Las Vegas, where her team won the state championship twice and where she finished second in the 2008 shot put. Athletics At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The athletics competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held during the last 10 days of the Games, on 3–12 August. Track and field events took place at the Olympic Stadium in east London. The road events, however, started and finished on The Mall in central London. Over 2,000 athletes from 201 nations competed in 47 events in total, with both men and women having a very similar schedule of events. Men competed in 24 events and women in 23, of which 21 were the same for both. The women's schedule lacked the 50 km race walk and included 100 m hurdles and heptathlon as opposed to the men's 110 m hurdles and decathlon. The youngest participant in the athletics competition was Andorran 15-year-old Cristina Llovera while the oldest was 46-year-old Ukrainian Oleksandr Dryhol. Irapuato is a Mexican city and municipality located at the foot of the Arandas Hill (in Spanish: ''Cerro de Arandas''), in the central region of the state of Guanajuato. 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships In Athletics
The 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships in Athletics were held at the Centro Paralímpico Nacional in Irapuato, Mexico from 6 to 8 July. It was the seventh edition of the biennial athletics (sport), athletics competition for North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association, NACAC area athletes under 23 years of age. A total of 44 track and field events were contested, divided evenly between the sexes. It was the third time that Mexico had hosted the event, having done so in 2000 and 2008. Paradise is an Unincorporated towns in Nevada, unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. DeAnna Marie Price (born June 8, 1993) is an American track and field athlete competing primarily in the hammer throw. Price's personal best in the hammer is , the American record, set at the 2021 US Olympic trials. The throw ranked her as the #2 women's thrower in history. In February 2021, Price broke the women's world record in the indoor hammer-style 25-pound weight throw. Price, the former Southern Illinois University athlete, threw the weight 85-4¼, breaking the previous record of 83-11½ set by Gwen Berry in 2017. Career Price attended Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri. There she was an All-State softball player and finished second in the discus and fifth in the shot put at the state track meet. Gwendolyn Denise Berry (born June 29, 1989) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the hammer throw. Her mark of on June 8, 2018, ranks her #7 on the all-time list. She also holds the world record in the weight throw with a mark of set in March 2017. She is a three-time national champion in the weight throw at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The hammer throw (HT for short) is one of the four throwing events in regular outdoor track-and-field competitions, along with the discus throw, shot put and Javelin throw, javelin. The hammer used in this sport is not like any of the tools also called by that name. It consists of a metal ball attached by a steel wire to a grip.
