The Golden Butterfly Awards (Turkish: ''Altın Kelebek Ödülleri'') are annual Turkish music and television awards held since 1972. Sponsored by Pantene, winners are chosen by readers of the daily newspaper ''Hürriyet'', and the event is broadcast live on the television channel Kanal D. Since 2017, the ceremony has included Azerbaijan's Brightest Star award, to celebrate that country's highest achievements in the music and television industries. Pantene
Pantene () is an American brand of hair care products now owned by Procter & Gamble. The product line originated in Europe in 1945 by Hoffmann-La Roche of Switzerland, which based the name on panthenol. It started to be introduced in the United States and around the world in 1985 when it was purchased by Richardson Vicks (Vicks) of the United States. That company was taken over in the same year by the American company Procter & Gamble (P&G) in order for P&G to compete in the " beauty product" market rather than only functional products. The brand's best-known product became the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioning formula, Pantene Pro-V (Pantene Pro-Vitamin). The product became most noted due to an advertising campaign in the 1989 in which fashion models said, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful." Kanal D (English: Channel D) is a nationwide television channel in Turkey that is part of Demirören Group. It was founded by Ayhan Şahenk and Aydın Doğan in 1993. The network has also run an international channel, Euro D, since 1996, which is available online, and had the first high definition channel in Turkey, Kanal D HD. Fantezi is a Turkish classical music genre composed in Turkish pop music in accordance with the tradition of the Turkish people. Also called folk song or urban folk music, in its plural form is a Turkish music genre which has taken many forms over the years.
