Alto Paraíso de Goiás, usually referred to as Alto Paraíso, is a municipality located in the northeastern region of the state of Goiás, Brazil. The city is located in the Microregion of Chapada dos Veadeiros, Chapada dos Veadeiros and, since 2001, in the Environmental protection area (Brazil), environmental protection area (APA) of Pouso Alto. Alto Paraíso is about 220 km from Brasília and 412 km from Goiânia. Alto Paraíso is located in the central Brazilian Highlands, a region characterized by the cerrado biome, also known as the Brazilian savannah. Chapada Dos Veadeiros National Park
Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park () is a National park (Brazil), national park of Brazil located in the state of Goiás, on the top of an ancient plateau with an estimated age of 1.8 billion years. The park was created on January 11, 1961, by President Juscelino Kubitschek, and listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2001. It occupies an area of in the municipalities of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Cavalcante and Colinas do Sul. The park is maintained by Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation. Colinas do Sul is a municipality in north-central Goiás state, Brazil. Location Colinas is located in the Chapada dos Veadeiros statistical micro-region and is almost directly north of Brasília, to which it is connected by G0-327 as far as Alto Paraíso de Goiás then by G0-118 south to Planaltina, where the highway joins with BR-020. Nova Roma, Goiás
Nova Roma is a municipality in northeastern Goiás state, Brazil. It is part of the statistical micro-region of Chapada dos Veadeiros. It is crossed by the important Paranã River, a tributary of the Tocantins. History In the seventeenth century the settlement of São Teodoro existed in the region. Gold mining was the main economic activity. In 1858 it was elevated to the status of district with the name of Nova Roma, belonging to the villa of Cavalcante. In 1943 the district changed its name to Guataçuba, changing back to Nova Roma again in 1947. Cavalcante is a town located in the northern state of Goiás, Brazil. It used to be a big gold producer during the colonial times, but today Cavalcante is more known by its natural beauties, rivers and waterfalls.
