Alternative Radio
Modern rock is an umbrella term used to describe rock music that is found on college and commercial rock radio stations. Some radio stations use this term to distinguish themselves from classic rock, which is based in 1960s–1980s rock music. Radio format Modern rock (also known as alternative radio) is a rock format commonly found on commercial radio; the format consists primarily of the alternative rock genre. Generally beginning with hardcore punk but referring especially to alternative rock music since the 1980s, the phrase "modern rock" is used in the US to differentiate the music from classic rock, which focuses on music recorded in the 1960s through to the early 1990s. Classic Rock
Classic rock is a radio format that developed from the album-oriented rock (AOR) format in the early 1980s. Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. Erasure ( ) are an English synth-pop duo formed in London in 1985, consisting of lead vocalist and songwriter Andy Bell (singer), Andy Bell and songwriter, producer and keyboardist Vince Clarke, previously co-founder of the band Depeche Mode and a member of synth-pop duo Yazoo (band), Yazoo. Depeche Mode are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Basildon, Essex in 1980.
