Almería (album)
''Almería'' is the sixth studio album by American alternative rock band Lifehouse, released on December 11, 2012, by Geffen Records. The title refers to the Spanish city of Almería, where many classic western films were filmed. The album was produced by Jude Cole, who has worked with Lifehouse on previous albums. The lead single off the album was released in September, and is titled " Between the Raindrops", a duet with British pop singer Natasha Bedingfield. Background ''Almería'' has a different sound than the previous work of Lifehouse, with lead singer Jason Wade telling ''Billboard'' that "We just knew we had to go back to the drawing board and try something new. Lifehouse is an American rock music, rock band from Los Angeles, California composed of Jason Wade (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano), Rick Woolstenhulme Jr. (drums, percussion), Bryce Soderberg (bass, vocals), and Steve Stout (lead guitar). The band came to mainstream prominence with their 2000 single "Hanging by a Moment," which led their debut studio album, ''No Name Face'' (2000). Ben Carey is an Australian guitarist born on 10 January 1975 in Warburton, Victoria, Australia. He played with bands such as Savage Garden, Tal Bachman, and Lifehouse. Richard Robert Woolstenhulme Jr. (born September 20, 1979) is an American musician and the drummer of rock band Lifehouse. Early life and education Woolstenhulme graduated from Gilbert High School in 1998, where he played football during his sophomore and junior years. After his parents bought him a beat-up drum set Woolstenhulme started playing the drums; he was nine. He attended the Los Angeles Music Academy. Career Lifehouse While Woolstenhulme was in a music studio session, Lifehouse, then comprising Jason Wade and Sergio Andrade, was practicing in the adjacent room. Woolstenhulme, then playing with another band, bumped into them in the hallway. Bryce Dane Soderberg (born April 10, 1980) is a Canadian musician and songwriter, best known as the bassist and vocalist for American rock band Lifehouse. Early life Soderberg was born in Victoria, British Columbia, and raised outside Victoria in the Municipality of Sooke. He started playing bass at a young age and developed his musicianship mostly in his basement with his brothers. He graduated from St. Michaels University School then after attending two years of College in Quebec, Canada, he moved to Los Angeles, California when he was 19 to pursue a professional career in music.
