Almada
Almada () is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. The two cities are connected by the 25 de Abril Bridge. The population of the municipality in 2011 was 174,030, in an area of 70.21 km2. The urbanized core center, the city of Almada proper, had a population of 101,500 in 2001. It makes part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. History Human presence in the area of Almada dates to the end of the Neolithic period about 5000 years ago; archeological excavations performed in the municipality suggest that non-sedentary nomadic tribes may have occupied this location sporadically. Inês De Medeiros
Inês de Saint-Maurice Esteves de Medeiros Victorino de Almeida (born 15 April 1968) is a Portuguese actress and politician. She won a Golden Globe in 1996. A member of the Socialist Party, she was a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic from 2009 to 2016, and has served as Mayor of Almada from 2017. Early life and acting Medeiros was born in Vienna, Austria, where her father António Victorino de Almeida was a conductor, while her mother Maria Armanda Esteves was a journalist. Her sister Maria is also an actress. The family moved regularly until the Carnation Revolution in Portugal in 1974; they settled in Lisbon the year after. 25 De Abril Bridge
The 25 de Abril Bridge (, 25th of April Bridge, ) is a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tagus, Tagus River. It has a main span length of , making it the 48th List of longest suspension bridges, longest suspension bridge in the world. At the time of its inauguration in 1966, the bridge was named Salazar Bridge (), after Portuguese Prime Minister António de Oliveira Salazar, who ordered its construction. After the Carnation Revolution in 1974, which overthrew the remnants of Estado Novo (Portugal), Salazar's ''Estado Novo'' regime, the bridge was renamed for April 25, the date of the revolution. Seixal Municipality
Seixal () is a Portuguese city and municipality, located in the district of Setúbal, in the metropolitan area of Lisbon.
