Allianz Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into five divisions, with seven teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. Teams representing subdivisions of counties, such as Fingal GAA, Fingal and Down GAA, South Down have also participated at various times. 2025 National Hurling League
The 2025 National Hurling League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Allianz Hurling League, was the 94th staging of the National Hurling League (NHL), an annual hurling tournament for county teams. Thirty-two county teams from Ireland, and three from England, competed. 2025 saw a new structure, with the league consisting of five divisions, each containing seven teams, and two teams promoted and relegated from each. It began on the weekend of 25–26 January 2025. were the reigning champions. On 6 April, Cork county hurling team, Cork defeated Tipperary county hurling team, Tipperary by 3-24 to 0-23 to win the final, their first league title since 1998 National Hurling League, 1998. Offaly county hurling team, Offaly's Brian Duignan finished as the league's top scorer with a tally of 1-68 across his seven appearances for the Faithful.
