''All Things Considered'' (''ATC'') is the flagship news program on the American network National Public Radio (NPR). It was the first news program on NPR, premiering on May 3, 1971. It is broadcast live on NPR affiliated stations in the United States, and worldwide through several different outlets, formerly including the NPR Berlin station in Germany. ''All Things Considered'' and ''Morning Edition'' were the highest rated public radio programs in the United States in 2002 and 2005. The show combines news, analysis, commentary, interviews, and special features, and its segments vary in length and style. Robert Conley (May 8, 1928 – November 16, 2013) was an American newspaper, television and radio reporter. Peabody Award
The George Foster Peabody Awards (or simply Peabody Awards or the Peabodys) program, named for the American businessman and philanthropist George Foster Peabody, George Peabody, honor what are described as the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in all of television, radio, and online media. Because of their academic affiliation and reputation for discernment, the awards are held in high esteem within the media industry. It is the oldest major electronic media award in the United States. Established in 1940 by the National Association of Broadcasters, the Peabody Award was created to honor excellence in radio broadcasting as the radio industry's equivalent of the Pulitzer Prizes. All Songs Considered
''All Songs Considered'' is a weekly online podcast and radio program hosted by Robin Hilton. It was created in January 2000 by NPR's ''All Things Considered'' then-director Bob Boilen and produced by Robin Hilton beginning in 2001. At first, the show featured information and streaming audio full versions of the songs heard between storieson ''All Things Considered''. The program has since turned into a source of discovery for new music of all genres. In August 2005, the program began podcasting for free. In 2005, it began webcasting and podcasting live concerts from Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club, including acts such as Animal Collective, The Decemberists, Neko Case, and Tom Waits. Boilen and Hilton wrote a blog where they introduced music from unsigned and unknown bands and solicited ideas for shows from listeners. KERA (90.1 MHz) is a non-commercial, listener-supported public radio station in Dallas, Texas. It is a member of National Public Radio (NPR). KERA 90.1 FM, KKXT 91.7 FM and KERA-TV 13, a PBS affiliate, are owned by North Texas Public Broadcasting, with studios on Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas. KERA is a Class C0 station. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 30,000 watts. The transmitter is on Plateau Drive in Cedar Hill, co-located with towers for other Dallas-area FM and TV stations. KERA is also heard on three FM translators serving Tyler (100.1 FM), Wichita Falls (88.3 FM) and the Sherman/ Denison area (99.3 FM). ''Consider This'' is a daily afternoon news podcast by the American media organization NPR, which typically releases new episodes Sunday through Friday around 5 p.m. ET. ''Tell Me More'' is a National Public Radio (NPR) interview show that was hosted by journalist Michel Martin. ''Tell Me More'' was first introduced online in December 2006 through an "open piloting" program called "Rough Cuts". Martin and the show's producers provided a regular podcast and blog on NPR's website, testing show ideas, offering sample segments, and soliciting user feedback. It began broadcasting on April 30, 2007. Sirius Satellite Radio
Sirius Satellite Radio was a satellite radio ( SDARS) service that operated in the United States and Canada. Sirius launched in 2002, and primarily competed with XM Satellite Radio, until the two services merged in 2008 to form Sirius XM. Like XM, Sirius offered pay-for-service radio for a monthly subscription fee, analogous to the business model of cable television. Its music channels were presented without commercial advertising, while its talk channels carried commercials.
