Aljaž Krefl (born 20 February 1994) is a Slovenian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)#Full-back, left-back for NK Aluminij, Aluminij, on loan from NK Celje, Celje. Club career Krefl joined NK Olimpija Ljubljana, Olimpija Ljubljana from NK Rudar Velenje, Rudar Velenje in June 2015. On 8 February 2017, he was sent on loan to Serbian side FK Spartak Subotica, Spartak Subotica. In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield player whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. Defenders fall into four main categories: centre-backs, full-backs, sweepers, and wing-backs. The centre-back and full-back positions are most common in modern formations. The sweeper and wing-back roles are more specialised, often limited to certain formations dependent on the manager's style of play and tactics. 2023–24 Slovenian PrvaLiga
The 2023–24 Slovenian PrvaLiga was the 33rd edition of the Slovenian PrvaLiga since its establishment in 1991. The season began on 22 July 2023 and ended on 19 May 2024. Olimpija Ljubljana were the defending champions after winning their third title in the previous season. Celje won their second PrvaLiga title with three rounds to go after defeating Olimpija 1–0 on 28 April 2024. As champions, they qualified for the first qualifying round of the 2024–25 UEFA Champions League.
