Alix Didier Fils-Aimé
Alix Didier Fils-Aimé (; born 14 November 1971) is a Haitian businessman who was appointed on 10 November 2024, as the interim Prime Minister of Haiti, succeeding Garry Conille who was fired by the Transitional Presidential Council the same day. Biography Fils-Aimé owns a dry cleaning store called “blanchisserie du soleil”. He studied at Boston University. From 1999 to 2011 he was the president of Hainet, one of the internet providers in Haiti. The company became insolvent and sold its asset in 2013. He is member of the founders of the ''Haitian des Enterprises de Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication'' (ATIC), a Haitian organization to promote and increase the technology systems. Alix Didier Fils-Aime was a member of the board of Banque de l’Union Haïtienne (BUH) until his nomination as Prime Minister of Haiti. 2015–16 Haitian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Haiti on 9 August 2015, with a second round initially planned for 25 October. Two-thirds of the Senate and all members of the Chamber of Deputies were up for election. International observers reported that early rounds of voting have experienced significant fraud, including people voting more than once due to failure of indelible ink, vote buying due to lack of secrecy, poor training of election workers, poor tracking of political parties, and other problems. Plateforme Vérité (English: Truth Platform) was a Haitian political party co-founded by former president René Préval. After the 2015-16 legislative elections, Vérité emerged as the second largest party behind only the PHTK, winning 17 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and three in the Senate. The Senate (, ) is the upper house of Haiti's bicameral legislature, the Haitian Parliament. The lower house of the Haitian Parliament is the Chamber of Deputies of Haiti, Chamber of Deputies. The Senate consists of thirty seats, with three members from each of the ten administrative Departments of Haiti, departments. Prior to the creation of the department of Nippes in 2003, there were twenty-seven seats. Senators are elected by popular vote to six-year terms, with one-third elected every two years.
