Alice is an unincorporated community in southwest Texas County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community was located on a high ridge above and north of West Piney Creek on Missouri Route 38 Route 38 is a highway in southern Missouri. The Alice school was just east of the community. History A post office called Alice was established in 1886, and remained in operation until 1927. The community has the name of Alice Embree, a pioneer citizen. In 1925, Alice had 32 inhabitants. Texas County is a County (United States), county located in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population was 24,487. Its county seat is Houston, Missouri, Houston. The county was organized in 1843 as Ashley County. Its name was changed in 1845 to Texas County, after the Republic of Texas.
