Ali Nihat Yazıcı
Ali Nihat Yazıcı (born 1964) is the head of Turkish Chess Federation. After graduating from Istanbul Technical University as an electronics and communication engineer in 1987, Yazıcı worked for the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) as an engineer. He got an MBA from Middle East Technical University. He graduated from Switzerland, Swiss International Business Academy first with a higher education degree on Radio and Television. He left Ankara University at a thesis level on Radio and Television. He was appointed to TRT Television vice presidency between 1991 and 2001. Yazıcı is a Fédération Internationale des Échecs, FIDE International Arbiter and was elected as president to the Turkish Chess Federation as of 18 November 2000. International Arbiter
In chess tournaments, an arbiter is an official who oversees matches and ensures that the rules of chess are followed. International Arbiter ''International Arbiter'' is a title awarded by FIDE to individuals deemed capable of acting as arbiter in important chess matches. The title was established in 1951. Requirements for the title to be awarded are detailed in section B.06 of the FIDE Handbook. As well as thorough knowledge of the laws of chess and a proved impartiality, they include the ability to speak a FIDE-approved language and previous experience as an arbiter in important tournaments. The International Chess Federation or World Chess Federation, commonly referred to by its French acronym FIDE ( , ), is an international organization based in Switzerland that connects the various national chess federations and acts as the governing body of international chess competition. Turkish Chess Federation
The Turkish Chess Federation (, TSF) is the governing chess organization within Turkey. The TSF was founded in 1954, and became a member of the Fédération Internationale des Échecs, FIDE in 1962. The federation was integrated into the General Directorate of Youth and Sports in 1991, gaining its official nationwide recognition. As of 2012, the president of the federation is Gülkız Tulay.
