Alfredo García-Heredia
} Alfredo García-Heredia (born 19 December 1981) is a Spanish professional golfer and European Tour player. He was runner-up at the 2022 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and the 2024 Omega European Masters. He won the 2021 B-NL Challenge Trophy on the Challenge Tour. Amateur career García-Heredia was born in Gijón, Asturias, and was introduced to golf by his uncles at age 14. He had a successful amateur career, winning the 2001 and 2004 Spanish Amateur Open Strokeplay Championship. In 2002, he played for Europe in the Bonallack Trophy in Japan and at the St Andrews Trophy in Switzerland, where he halved his Sunday singles match against Nigel Edwards. Haraldur Franklín Magnús (born 16 March 1991) is an Icelandic professional golfer who plays on the Challenge Tour. He participated in the 2018 Open Championship, becoming the first Icelandic golfer to compete in a men's major golf championship. Early life Magnús grew up in Reykjavík, Iceland, and attended college at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Career Magnús played in the 2015 The Amateur Championship, Amateur Championship and turned professional in the following year. Michael Hoey (golfer)
Michael George Wilfred Hoey (born 13 February 1979) is a retired Northern Irish professional golfer who played on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour. Amateur career Hoey was born in Ballymoney but played much of his early golf at Shandon Park Golf Club in East Belfast. He won the British Amateur Championship in 2001 and was a member of the victorious 2001 Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team. As British Amateur Champion, he was invited to play in the Masters Tournament in 2002, where he missed the cut by a single stroke. He turned professional later that year. He played his collegiate golf at Clemson University. Marcus Helligkilde (born 5 October 1996) is a Danish professional golfer. In 2021, he won the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge and Swiss Challenge on the Challenge Tour and finished the season as the winner of the Challenge Tour Rankings. Career As an amateur, Helligkilde won the 2015 Turkish Amateur Open Championship and represented Denmark at the 2016 Eisenhower Trophy and the 2017 European Amateur Team Championship. Helligkilde turned professional in late 2017 and joined the 2018 Nordic Golf League (NGL), where he recorded 10 top-10 finishes and secured his maiden professional title at the Ekerum Öland Masters in September. 2021 Challenge Tour
The 2021 Challenge Tour was the 33rd season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. Changes for 2021 Similarly to 2020, the season was due to begin in February with three tournaments in South Africa co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour, but in mid-January the South African swing was postponed to April/May because of COVID-19 pandemic concerns. The official schedule announcement was made on 27 January 2021. In April two back-to-back events in Sweden in May were added. In-season changes In August, it was announced that the Hainan Open and the Foshan Open; both played in China, were cancelled. } Matthew Wallace (born 12 April 1990) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. Collegiate career After growing up in Pinner England and going to Aldenham School, Wallace attended Jacksonville State University, in Northeast Alabama, as a freshman in the 2010–11 season before turning professional. His year in Jacksonville was a successful one that saw him win twice, including the 2011 OVC Championship. He was the OVC Freshman of the Year and held the record for lowest round in school history with a 10-under 62 in the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate. Peter Lawrie
Peter Lawrie (born 22 March 1974) is an Irish professional golfer. Early life Lawrie was born in Dublin and educated at Terenure College and University College Dublin, where he took up a golf scholarship. He won the 1996 Irish Amateur Close Championship and turned professional in 1997. Professional career It took him several years to get a card on the European Tour. He finished fourth on the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2002, including a victory in the Challenge Tour Grand Final. This earned him a European Tour card for the first time. Lawrie credited much of this success to the help of swing coach, Brendan McDaid. Lawrie had a solid debut season on the European Tour 2003 season and also became the first Irishman to be named the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. The Acciona Open de España (formerly the Spanish Open) is the national open golf championship of Spain. It was founded in 1912 and has been part of the European Tour's schedule since the inception of the Tour in 1972. The tournament has been played in April or May, except for a five-year period in the early 1980s and since the 2019 edition, when the tournament was moved to October. The 2022 European Tour, titled as the 2022 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 51st season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972. DP World title sponsorship In November 2021, it was announced that the tour had signed a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, being renamed as the DP World Tour. The agreement was reported to be worth over 10 years.
