Mo Alexander (born November 7, 1970) is an American stand-up comedian and actor originally from Memphis, Tennessee. He has been headlining in comedy clubs and festivals since the mid-1990s. He has released six comedy albums, including 2022's ''Mo' Possum Blues'' on Stand Up! Records. Donnie Snow of the Memphis Commercial Appeal called him "as funny and fearless a stand-up as the Mid- South ever produced." Ora Alexander
Ora Alexander (born c. 1896) was an American classic female blues singer. She was a recording artist in the early 1930s, releasing eight sides, including the dirty blues tracks "You've Got to Save That Thing" and "I Crave Your Lovin' Every Day". Her recordings were in a primitive barrelhouse style. Little is known of her life outside of music. Career According to researchers Bob Eagle and Eric LeBlanc, Alexander was born around 1896. She made ten recordings in New York City for Columbia Records, between May 1931 and March 1932, eight of which were released. From the dates of the recordings it is known that she was in New York at least twice within one year, but it is not certain whether she ever resided there. Her pianist was not generally named on the recordings, but it is certain that Milton Davage was her accompanist on "I'm Wild About My Patootie". Marjorie Lucille "Margie" Alexander (October 11, 1948 – March 26, 2013) In 1968, she started singing at the Club 400 in Atlanta, and joined Clarence Carter's band as a back-up singer. By 1971 she had a recording contract with Atlantic Records, where Clarence Carter produced the single "Can I Be Your Main Thing", written by Hubert Carter and featuring electronic piano by Clayton Ivey. Although the record was not a hit, it has subsequently been widely anthologised as a classic example of Southern soul music. Birdie Alexander (March 24, 1870 – August 2, 1960) was an American educator and music teacher. She was a charter member of the Music Supervisors' National Conference. Alexander is credited with laying the foundations of music education in the Dallas public schools. Biography Alexander was born on March 24, 1870, in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
