Alex Pérez (basketball)
Alejandro Daniel "Alex" Pérez Kauffman (born July 1, 1993) is a Mexican-American professional basketball player for Tofaş of Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). He also represents the senior Mexican national basketball team in international competitions. Professional career On June 17, 2016, Pérez signed with the Israeli team Maccabi Haifa for the 2016–17 season. On July 24, 2017, Pérez signed a one-year deal with the Latvian team VEF Rīga. Pérez helped them to reach the 2018 Latvian League Finals and the 2018 VTB League Quarterfinals. In 55 games played during the 2017–18 season (both in the Latvian League and the VTB League), Pérez averaged 11.8 points, 5.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. On July 4, 2018, Pérez signed with the Turkish team Banvit for the 2018–19 season. Basketbol Süper Ligi
The Basketball Super League (; TBSL), also known as the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's professional basketball division of the Turkish basketball league system. It replaced the former Turkish Basketball Championship (1946–1967) to become the Turkish Basketball League (TBL) until 2015 when it adopted its current name while the TBL name became exclusive to the Turkish Basketball First League, second-tier and Turkish Basketball Second League, third-tier divisions. The BSL is administered by the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) and is contested by 16 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams promotion and relegation, relegated to the second-tier TBL and replaced by the top two teams of that division. 2017 FIBA AmeriCup
The 2017 FIBA AmeriCup was the 18th edition of the FIBA AmeriCup, which is the main tournament for senior men's basketball national teams of the FIBA Americas. The tournament was held in Medellín, Colombia, Montevideo, Uruguay, and Bahía Blanca and Córdoba, in Argentina, from 25 August, to 3 September 2017. Unlike previous editions, the tournament did not award spots for the FIBA World Cup or the Summer Olympic Games. However, the top seven teams qualified to the 2019 Pan American Games. The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organized the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament.
