Alex Palczewski
Alex Andrzej "Palcho" Palczewski ( ; born August 3, 1999) is an American professional football offensive tackle for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). Palczewski played college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini where he was named a college football All-American for the 2022 season. Early life Palczewski was born in Mount Prospect, Illinois to Andrzej and Bozena Palczewski, both immigrants from communist Poland who moved to the United States in the mid-1980s. His father worked as a carpenter and his mother worked as a nurse. Palczewski grew up speaking Polish, and was still learning English pronunciations through the third grade. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section).
