Alex Karras
Alexander George Karras (July 15, 1935October 10, 2012) was an American professional American football, football player, professional wrestler, sportscaster, and actor. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection playing defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL), where he played from 1958 Detroit Lions season, 1958 to 1970 Detroit Lions season, 1970. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the Centennial class. As an actor, Karras played Mongo in the 1974 in film, 1974 comedy film ''Blazing Saddles''. He starred as George Papadopolis, the adoptive father of Webster Long (Emmanuel Lewis), in the American Broadcasting Company, ABC situation comedy, sitcom ''Webster (TV series), Webster'' (1983–1989) alongside his wife Susan Clark. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. 1966 Pro Bowl
The 1966 Pro Bowl was the National Football League's sixteenth annual all-star game which featured the outstanding performers from the season. The game was played on January 16, 1966, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California, with an attendance of 60,124.
